Sonic Playground is excited to welcome aboard our new
bassist, Tim Wayland. An oustanding bass player with a great voice, Tim has many years of experience as a performer,
session musician, songwriter, and producer. Musically, professionally and personally, Tim is truly a perfect fit.
We are thrilled to have him in the band.
Best wishes and best of luck to bassist Ben Spivak, who has left Sonic Playground
to tour alongside Christine Evans and Keshia Chante, and will be returning to Humber College in September to continue his music studies.
May 19, 2005.
Starting June 8, Sonic Playground will be performing
every Wednesday at the Tap & Tankard in Whitby. So, if you're in the east end
of the city, please come out and see us. Let's make Wednesdays a rockin party night in Whitby!
April 1, 2005.
Effective April 2005 Sonic Playground will NO LONGER be
hosting the Thursday Jam Night at the Fox & Fiddle in Mississauga.
The reason for this is, many of our weekend gigs require us to perform three nights (thu/fri/sat)
as opposed to just two nights (fri/sat). So obviously, on those occasions we are unable to host the Thursday Jam Night.
Three-nighters are becoming more and more frequent, and as a result, it has become extremely difficult to fulfill
our obligation to the Fox & Fiddle on a regular basis.
We would like to thank everyone who came to see us at the Fox in Mississauga every Thursday.
Thanx as well to the staff for always taking such good care of us. Especially Doug, everyone's favorite doorman/singer!
There were a lot of people who have made the Thursday Jam Night a lot of fun for us over the past year. Thank you all
so much.
** Don't forget, every other Tuesday we are STILL hosting the Jam Night at the
other Fox & Fiddle in downtown Toronto (at John & Adelaide)! Make sure you come see us! **
February 22, 2005.
We would like to wish the very best of luck to bassist Peter Fusco, who parted ways with
Sonic Playground earlier this month. Peter's schedule has made it difficult for him to remain in the band
any longer. However, Peter will always remain a dear friend of ours, and we will miss having him as a part of Sonic
Playground. Make sure you check out Peter on tour with Sarah Slean, as well as regular performances with Shaye, Liam Titcomb, and many other nationally-accomplished artists.
We would also like to say thanks to Phil Houston, who has been Peter's loyal understudy over
the past year. We have always felt like Phil was a part of Sonic Playground as well, and we extend our gratitude
to him for helping us out again and again.
At this time, we would like to welcome aboard our brand new bassist, Ben Spivak. Ben
is a fantastic bassist, and a great singer too. He is an extremely talented musician who is sure to take Sonic
Playground to new levels with his abilities.
