

Carolyn Cardona
VOCALS
Carolyn
is a gifted singer and performer. The power in her voice is astonishing. Carolyn's tone, control, and versatility allow her to excel in styles such as pop,
rock and r&b. Her charismatic personality and sultry stage presence captivates
audiences. Carolyn is a natural born front person, and is thrilled to be a part
of SONIC PLAYGROUND.
Carolyn has been performing since the age of four and comes from a musical family. Her father is a classical and folklore guitarist, and sings traditional Latin American music with her mother. Being of South American descent, Carolyn sings in Spanish as well as English.
Carolyn
lived in Colombia for three years, during which time she performed with the cover band Blue Jean. Upon her return to Toronto, Carolyn participated in numerous
competitions, recording sessions, and performed with the band Under Cover. One
of the highlights of being in the band was the opportunity to play at Darryl Sittler's birthday party.
Carolyn’s collaboration with The Groove Divas for three years
proved to be successful while performing with the band throughout North America. These
experiences have provided Carolyn with a great deal of exposure and contributed to her success as an entertainer.

Jay
LeRoux
GUITAR / VOCALS
Jay is
an educated, well-practiced musician. He has always demonstrated excellence on
his instrument, and maintains the admiration and respect of his fellow guitarists. His
playing is the perfect blend of groove, feel and technique. Also a vocalist,
Jay possesses a true rock & roll voice, and conveys a great deal of energy and emotion in his vocal style. Jay enjoys being on stage and loves to interact with the audience.
Jay studied music at Humber College where he majored in guitar and composition, and also took a minor course
in vocal. He graduated in June 1997, and received the Gordon Delamont Memorial
Award for outstanding achievement in composition.
Like his bandmates, Jay had a substantial amount of experience before SONIC PLAYGROUND. He performed with other working cover bands such as Graffiti Park and Knuckleball;
he was in the backup band for tribute acts such as Madonna, Jennifer Lopez and Christina Aguilera; he
performed in the progressive rock trio Eye Rhyme for over three years; he played guitar on tour with country artist
Chris Syrie; he performed for several months in the eleven-piece r&b group Jive Turkeys; he played briefly
in the rock-industrial band Pin; and appeared on Margaret Wysman's debut CD.
During his many years as a working musician, Jay has performed in the United States, Mexico, the Middle East, and toured
Canada numerous times.
Jay also works as a session guitarist, voice-over announcer, and teaches guitar at
Long & McQuade.

Tim Wayland
BASS / VOCALS
Tim is truly a professional-level musician. He brings a presence to
the band that could only be the result of years of experience in the music industry. He is an outstanding
bassist and vocalist, and the members of SONIC PLAYGROUND are very excited to have him on board.
Tim has been a songwriter and performer for over fifteen years.
He has done writing and development work for major record companies such as BMG, EMI, and Atlantic. He has done extensive touring over the years, sharing the stage with artists such
as 54-40, Default, Edwin, and Gina Crosley of Veruca Salt.
Tim is an accomplished engineer, producer, and also teaches guitar and bass at Long &
McQuade.
Like Jay and Greg, Tim also spent time studying music at Humber
College, where he majored in bass and performance.

Greg Wilkinson
DRUMS / VOCALS
Greg
is an experienced, well-studied and professional musician. Greg's precise, accurate approach to drumming makes him the strong
backbone of the band. He is an excellent drummer who always welcomes a challenge.
Greg's
musical experience includes performing and recording with Vibrolux, Gomango, Rick Lazar, Jesse Cook and Samba Squad, Shawn
Hewitt And The National Strike, and Peter Katz. Greg has shared the stage with artists such as K-OS, Edwin, Finger Eleven
and the Matthew Good Band to name a few.
Greg has also had the pleasure of touring Canada sponsored by Pepsi Cola as part of The Pepsi Taste Tour and performing
at the Governor General's Award Ceremony. He has spent time performing on Carnival Cruise Ships, played in the cover band
Knuckleball and also in various Tribute Acts. As a studio musician, his work includes the score of the comedic television
show The War Next Door and Cingular AT&T commercials.
Greg studied music at Humber College, where he majored in Drums/Percussion and Performance. Upon graduating Humber, Greg studied with renowned drum educator Jim Blackley and has also studied Orchestral and Jazz Arranging
with Shelly Berger and Film Composition with Donald Quan.
Greg
also has worked as the Assistant Engineer at Wellesley Sound Studios where he had the pleasure of working with such artists
as Sil Simone, Alfie Zappacosta, and Damhnait Doyle on her album Hyperdramatic released on EMI. He has also spent a great
deal of his time composing music for independent films and has music in two seasons of the television show Mutant X. Greg's
music has appeared in many film festivals including Cinerail in Paris and The Action On Film festival in Los Angeles.
Greg
also works as a drum instructor at Long & McQuade.
